How to Transport Your Vehicle with Personal Items: A Comprehensive Guide

If you need to transport your vehicle, you may wonder if you can also transport your personal belongings inside. While it's possible to transport items along with your vehicle, there are some important considerations to keep in mind to ensure a safe and hassle-free transport. In this blog post, we will discuss the things you need to know when transporting your vehicle with items.

Transporting items with your vehicle:

At SMB Australia Car Transport, we allow customers to transport items with their vehicles. However, it's important to ensure that the items are below the window height and not on or around the driver's seat. This is because items can shake and rattle during transit and having them below the window height can prevent them from hitting the windows and damaging the interior of your vehicle. It's also important to leave full range of motion for the driver's seat to ensure safe entry and exit.

Weight and insurance considerations:

It's important to note that items are priced based on weight, and if the weight exceeds the quoted amount, additional charges will apply. Our carriers also have a weight limit, and for items weighing over 80kgs, you'll need to call our office for an accurate quote and time frame. It's also important to note that SMB Australia Car Transport does not hold insurance on items carried inside your vehicle. If the items are lost, damaged or cause damage to the interior of the vehicle during transport, they won't be covered by insurance.

Additional tips for transporting your vehicle with items:

1. Make a list of all items you plan to transport and take photos of them before loading them into the vehicle.

2. Secure your items in a way that prevents them from moving around during transport, such as using tie-downs, packing materials, or cargo nets.

3. Remove any valuable items from the vehicle, such as cash, jewellery, or important documents.

4. Check with the transportation company about any restrictions or guidelines regarding the type of items you can transport, such as hazardous materials or weapons.

Transporting your vehicle with items is possible, but it requires careful planning and attention to detail. By following our tips and guidelines, you can ensure a safe and stress-free transport for both your vehicle and your personal belongings.
